Repost from 2010: Atlantica Girls

Have any other Atlantica brides who haven't decided to move to the Allegria gotten their deposits back? We met with Ginny Jacobs last weekend, but ended up booking at The Bourne Mansion. We've since tried calling and e-mailing to ask for our deposit back, and now we aren't getting a response. I'm starting to get nervous

Re: Repost from 2010: Atlantica Girls

I am the disappointed MOB and i got the 'call' on saturday night (10/10) about atlantica closing.
Needless to say we were all devastated!!!
My daughter (the bride) lives out of town so I went to see the Allegria on Sunday because I wanted my money back! I allowed Ginny to show me around but it was not at all what we wanted.
And - she said the 'tent' belongs to them and it would be 'put up' on the beach for each wedding - are they kidding??? OR - maybe the rooftop would be finished (but she could not promise) by May (when we were booked). (she was having the ceremony there).
I said NO thankyou - when did you know about this? She said about a month (i'm sure it was much much longer than that!!!) and I was extremely upset and
asked for my money back and she wrote me a check right there and then.
SO - if you are having trouble getting your deposit back GO THERE and say you want it back right away, that you are NOT HAPPY with this place -and be aggressive!!!
Anyway, we are searching for a new venue and hopefully booking Lands End - lovely, not Atlantica, nothing is Atlantica - but what can we do?
My daughter is coming in this weekend to look at Lands End and I'm hoping we book it!
SOOOOOOOO disappointed - and how horrible that they LIED LIED LIED to us all!!!!!
Good luck all!

That is horrible. They have to give you the deposit back I would go there in person.

Good luck

Go there in person and demand your deposit back!!

We booked Lands End - very happy.

I think it's just disgusting how many brides were lied to!!

Why did you want to get your money back? I am curious because I am interested in the Bourne Mansion for the possible site of my ceremony/reception.
Do you have any cautionary info?

Thank you!

Oh I see. Yes, we called the Atlantica a few months ago to book there. We were ready to set a date, and they called us back to say 'We have no venders. Right now its an empty space.'

Sorry to hear about that
