Repost from 2010 brds: Sandals or Couples for Jamaica HM??

I am currently booked to Sandals Dunn River in Jamaica but can cancel with a refund so Im still looking into other hotels just as an option.

I researched the Sandals ones a lot so I know about them but I would love opinions on which you think is better..Sandals or Couples: the differences between them and definately which Couples Resort if you are reccommending them rather than Sandals?

xoxo Thankss

I'm booked at Sandals Negril and this resort in particular gets rave reviews.

I did also look into Couples which is a little cheaper and involves more all inclusive activities. BUT the rooms are not nearly as nice at Sandals and that was a deal breaker for me. Plus the rooms at Sandals Negril were just renovated.

I wanted more luxury and Sandals I believe is better in that way.

Go to tripadvisor.com for review on Couples and Sandals.

I abosultey LOVEEEEEEE Couples Resorts . I have been there twice and will be going to Couples Swept Away ( Negril) In July. My first trip to Couples was Couples San Souci and it was amazing!!!!! The second time, we stood in Couples Tower Isle (It was called Couples Ocho Rios back then).

I would definitely recommend Couples San Souci. I booked that trip not knowing about the Couples Resorts and I loved it and so did FH. We stood in an oceanfront suite that was gorgeous! I have never been to Sandals so I'm biased lol. I have pics if you would like to see, good luck with your decision.

I love Couples. I recommended it to a old coworker who asked about resorts in Jamaica and he raved. He went for his honeymoon. I am from Jamaica. Sandals resorts are nice and are known to have a good reputation but both hotels do.

ETA: I went to Couples San Souci too and it was AMAZING. I think both hotels are nice so its hard to really say which I liked more.

My fiance and I got engaged at Couples Negril this May. I thought the resort was fantastic; the beach in particular was divine. The food and service were also top notch. On the downside, the rooms were a bit dated and the maid service was a bit uneven. In general, you can't go wrong with a top tier all-inclusive in Jamaica. The island is so idyllic and beautiful that it will feel like you have stepped into paradise.

Thank you everyone! I have been looking on trip advisor and it seems so even...imo, the rooms do look a bit nicer at Sandals and a little more luxurious even for their standard rooms. I know that its just a room but I think I would feel a bit dissapointed if we walked in and our room looked really dated. But then again, all reviews are consistent that Couples have the most out of the world service ever which would be awesome for a really relaxing and pampered hm. Ahhhh, I dont know. If we were to do Jamaica, we are going to do Ocho Rios, for Negril the price jumps quite a bit and I think we would rather have extra nights in a little less expensive resort than less nights because of budget. Any opinions on Sandals Dunn River or Sandals Ocho Rios (which we could change to if we wanted)

Thanks again!!
