repost from BHB ??? for brides having ceremony at reception hall

I am confused, some ladies have mentioned that they are getting married at the hall but no rehearsal. A photgrapher mentioned something about that too. I am a little nervous about that, not having a rehearsal a a few days before. Anyone know whether or not this may be something true of all halls or may be it something that each halls handles indvidually.

I posted on BHB too, but I am doing a run-through 20-30 min before.

I don't think that it will be a big deal. we are having a 'rehersal' dinner the night before... (OR the weekend before), and I will DISCUSS what is goign to happen,(like any specifics)... but other than that, I think Day-of will be fine.

I would imagine that if you wanted to, you could probably get your hall to do a rehearsal on a Thursday night. But a lot of people getting married at the hall will do a separate run through 30 minutes before the ceremony. Usually, the guys will go down, then the girls, at least that's what I was told when I originally was having my ceremony at the hall.

We will, per the planner, do a run through after pictures, before ceremony.

we are not having a rehearsal, but I think everyone knows the wedding drill by now! Walk down the aisle and stand. smile. I am not worried. If you have a good coordinator, all will go smoothly!

dont sweat it. i have been to a few wedding (mine will also be the same) where the ceremony is at the recpetion hall. what they do is about 20-30 minutes before the ceremony they will do a walk through of what is going to happen. it is not a big deal and actaully works out better for the simple reason that everything will be fresh in everyones head.

I'm pretty sure that's what we're doing too.

Our officiant suggested that we do a rehearsal on a Wednesday or Thursday night. If you do it before, are the Bride and Groom involved? We don't want to see each other before the ceremony.

Same here by the way who are you using as you officiant?

My hall is letting us do ours on a Tues or Wed night when not much is going on. I need to find out if there is an extra charge for it too.

At my hall, the rehearsal is 15 min long and happens about an hour prior to the ceremony. I'm also a little concerned about this, but there's not much that can be done (in my case anyway). My wedding is Saturday and I'm sure there's a wedding on Friday, so I can't do it then. I could try for Thursday, but pretty much all the GMs are OOT, so... I wonder if you're having readers if they're supposed to be part of the rehearsal as well? How do they know when they're supposed to go? Ugh!!
