Repost from BHB: Help! Best recs for Bridal salons and RK bridal???

So I had planned on going to RK in a few weeks to try on dresses but I keep reading that it is crazy crazy on Saturdays and unfortunately I cant ask my MOH and bm to take off of work and come on a weekday. I guess I planned on going here because I heard they have a large selection and are very reasonably priced but if it's too crazy and if there's a time limit on dressing rooms, then I would rather not go.

So, first question, is RK really less expensive than other places and if so, what are we talkin? like 50 bucks or like 200+? Has anyone ever tried on a dress at a 'more upscale' place and then ordered your dress from the less expensive place?

And what are your other reccomendations for Bridal Salons in Nassau, North East Queens (like Bayside, Whitestone, etc.) or Manhattan? I would prefer Nassau or the city....and for the salon you reccomend, can you tell me how you think they are priced?

Carinas in Whitestone! my girls are getting there BM dresses from there they dont have a hugh selectionsbut I had already picked out the dress i wanted for my girls ( in my album) and they said they can order it and they gave me the cheapest price out of Manhasset Bridal salon and Bridal Reflections! my girls tried it onthe dress at BR!

I actually tried on dresses at Bergdoff Goodman. That is where I found my dress. However, then when I got home, I found out that Bridal Reflections carry the same line, so I called and went there. They beat the price by $800!!! So you can definitely shop around!

My FSIL recently went to RK Bridal, but it wasn't on the weekend. She had a nice experience there and found an AMAZING gown that I looked at and feel it is worth a million dollars meanwhile its less than $1000. We're going to places in Nassau this Saturday for her to try on the same dress there. I will find out the price and then can give you a better estimate of the difference from RK Bridal!

My best friend found her gown at a place on Long Island and then went to RK to see if they carried it - they did, and it was a savings of $400 for her. She got her dress for $700 at RK; it was $1100 at the bridal place on the Island.

i went with my MOH and bm once on a Saturday. it wasn't that crowded. if you go early in the morning when they open it's not so bad.

i know their pricing is definitely cheaper than other places but I'm not sure by how much. sorry.

RK Bridal is really not that crazy- get there when it opens and you'll be fine. I actually got there about an hour after it opened and waited maybe 30 mins. The prices are very affordable.

If you're going to RK Bridal, I would reccomend walking a few blocks to Macy's Bridal. I went there after RK and thats where I found my dress.
