REPOST FROM BHB - I'm mad at my FI

So its been a week and 3 days and tonight my FI has made me mad!

PLEASE NO OFFENSE TO GROOMS WHO ARE DOING THIS BUT...

We were talking tonight and he mentioned how he wanted light blue tuxedos - I kinda laughed it off - and then he told me that he was serious bc thats what his dad had at his wedding! We got into such a huge fight because he knows how strongly I have been wishing for a traditional wedding (which would include black tuxedos). Plus, I come from such an old school Italian family.. it just would be horrible.

Plus... we kid around with each other ALOT... but sometimes he will jokingly say - 'yeah well then give me back the ring.' He is totally kidding - I know for sure... but it still bothers me... and I told him that tonight and he got offended.

We just had a bad night. SORRY SO LONG. I needed to vent.

AGAIN I HOPE I DIDN'T OFFEND ANYONE!

Vent all you want!!! We are here for ya! Communication is the key....you told him how you felt about it so i'm sure he will respect your wishes and not mention or THINK about light blue tuxedos again! How could he even want that anyways??? lol Silly boys!

thank goodness you still have plenty of time until your wedding. hopefully he will see the light and change his mind.

if not, what I would probably do is show him the ugliest dresses I could find and tell him how much you love them

I'm sure when you sit down and seriously talk he will see how much it means to you. Maybe instead of light blue tuxs, you can have light blue BM dresses and groomsmen can have light blue ties. I don't know what your ideas were for BM dresses, but it could be a good compromise...?

But like the other girls said - it could just blow over - men will be men!

My FH and I had the same problem (with him joking about taking the ring back) but I sat down seriously with him and talked about it and he hasn't done it since - maybe try talking with him again. They don't realize sometimes what is a joke to them (and even to us) could still be hurtful. (No offense grooms! )
