Repost from BHB: Losing weight...just looking for some advice

I have 37 days left - I have been limiting portions - cutting out sweets - no soda - low carbs - low sodium - and going to the gym spending 2 hours 2 - 4 times a week for the past few months. I've only lost about 5 - 7 pounds and i'm so frustrated.

I just wanted to lose atleast a half inch around my waist (anymore and my dress won't fit - it fits now but i'd like just atleast a half inch).

I have a strapless dress and want my arms to look better - they have shown some improvement with all the weights i've been using but not enough.

I saw on tv today a commercial for kellogs saying if you replace two meals a day for two weeks you will lose several pounds. Has anyone tried this? does anyone know if it works?

I'm just looking for any kind of advice on what i can do if there is anything to do.

Thank you girls!

I would just keep doing what you are doing. Make sure you are doing cardio, not just weights. If you only lift, then you will build muscle, but won't be able to see it under any fat. The cardio will burn off the fat so you can see all your results from lifting weight.
If you eat any cereal for two meals a day you will lose weight. I personally wouldn't do this because i know that I would be very hungry and cranky and would have no energy.
Keep going to the gym and do that cardio!!

I have 52 days left and I am trying to lose as much as I can. I was going to the gym and started to lose, but then I tore a tendon in my knee a few months ago, and have gained weight back.

I am doing a strict calorie diet. I am trying to eat between 800-950 calories a day, def no more than 1000. But I can;t excersice much b/c of my knee

If you want your arms to look better, do mat pilates. Please try them, they are awesome. Then write back and let us know how it goes.

A few women I worked with did that Special K diet and it worked for them, you just have to be strict about it.

Jamey - you're probably hitting a plateau since you didn't have much to loose to begin with. Your best bet is to stick to the gym - this way you can eat, and continue to burn calories. Fad diets and those that promote eat 'X' 1 or 2x a day are not very balanced or nutritious diets. I know, all of this coming from the chubby gal!

Anyway, you are beautiful! Continue to work towards a realistic goal, and you'll be fine!
