Repost from BHB - Out of Town Guest Dinner vs Rehearsal Dinner

Who to invite.......

Our ceremony is at the Westbury Manor so we really don't need a 'rehearsal Dinner' but we will be having a lot of out of town guests and would like to do a dinner for them the night before. My question is should I invite only the Out Of Town Guests and not the bridal party? Or should I invite the bridal party?

I am open to all suggestions.

What's your objective? If it's specifically for the OOT-ers, than just invite them. If you want to make it a 'pre-wedding' affair, invite the BP. Depending on cost and what you really want, I'd invite both.

We'll have a RD since we're getting married at a church - but I'm probably having it two nights before our wedding (so no OOT guests will be around yet). So to make the OOT-ers feel like they traveled to NY for more than just a 6-hour party, I'm having a BBQ at my house the day after the wedding - to kind of extend the fun and also so I can relax with my guests who traveled a long way to be with us. (I'll probably open the BBQ to the BP too - as a TY - but with no expectation of them coming since they'll probably be all weddinged-out by then).
