La Casa is really good too. They serve Italian food and give you HUGE portions. It's right on Crab Meadow beach..so you have a beautiful view while you eat!

For steak take your FH to Robkes Country Inn. It is on 25A across from Stop & Shop. They have an open pit that they grill the steak over. It's the best in town. They also do italian.
For brunch you can do Nocello's on the corner of 25A and Waterside, or the place on the corner of 25A Laurel opposite Dunken Donuts and Stop & Shop.
For seafood Skippers Pub on Main Street in the heart of the village. Across the street from Skippers is a tiny little place that doesn't look like much more than a bar from the outside, but they have AWESOME salads, sandwiches and burgers (I just can't remember the name).
Crossroads in East Northport on Larkfield Road between the light at the Vernon Valley/Laurel Road merge and the train tracks.
For really good homemade ice cream go to the Sweet Shop on Main Street.
The best bakery in town is Copenhagen on Woodbine Avenue.
ETA: I've lived in Northport almost my entire life, so if you have any questions feel free to send me FM.

For breakfast-Sweet Mama's on 25A and Laurel-AWESOME!!! they are owned by the owners of Mill Pond and PIccolo's
Mill Pond House in Centerport is great-continental food (excellent lunch deal)
Piccolo's in Huntington-Italian
Bravo Nader in Huntington-Italian (really great food, small, quiet family run place)
Mangiamo in Huntington-family style Italian
Abel Conklin's in Huntington for steak
Viva Juan on 25A in Centerport for Mexican
the other suggestions are great too- Torcello's, skipper's , etc..all good in northport. just walk down main street and you'll see all the restaurants there-it's not a long walk.
