Well I never never never see them so I would leave a note.. which is ALOT easier.. but its still very awkward.

EEEEKKK!!!

I'd leave them a note, asking them to 'lower the volume' on their TV late at night, b/c its keeping you up. Unless they have rocks for brains, they should get the hint.

Yikes! I bet they don't even realize they are being heard. Drop them a short note telling them that you can hear everything in their bedroom and you need some sleep.

Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase 'get a room!'

I lived in a house where the tenants above us rocked the entire house when they had $ex. Not to mention her pathetic moaning... I still remember this one time we're outside planting flowers and they're going at it full swing windows open and well...she's 'singing' from the top of her lungs!
DH & I were looking around like...ummm...I hope our neighbors are not out!

Needless to say...we moved!

Being they're your tenants and it's happening in the middle of the night while you're trying to get some sleep...I would do what Rebecca said. Even though we all do it, it's a little embarassing for both to come right out and say it.

I think your best bet would be a nice little note asking them to please stop moving furniture late at night or to please not leave the TV on all night as it is keeping you up. They'll get the hint!
