Repost: Ladies who are using or thinking of using Hydrangea
I have purchased TWO centerpieces on my own just to get a feel for flowers that I would like. Both had just hydrangea, green & peach roses and filler and both centerpieces hydrangea DIED the next day.
These are from two diff. florists. NONE of which informed me until I complained that these flowers do not last (only can be used for that day). I am kinda ticked off that the florist didn't inform me when placing the order and wasting $60. Needeless to say I may not go back to the florists to book my wedding.
I realize many people have used hydrangea for the weddings and some of lasted a few days but from what I have just experience I am not taking a chance. I am getitng married on a sunday and i know they are not going to make my flowers up Sunday they will make them up on Saturday or even Friday as most florists work on flowers a day or two prior to the wedding depending on how busy they are. SO BE WARNED!!!

I had wanted them for my pew flowers but my florist said she didn't think they would hold up in July so advised me against it. I

I had hydrangeas in my centerpieces and bouquets and they lasted for days after. I used Pedestals Florist. I got married in June.

My wedding was in October and the hydrangea in my CP and bouquet lasted for days after the wedding. Also, my DH bought me a dozen roses for Valentines day and they used hydrangea in the arrangement and that lasted for days also. I used Port Jefferson Florist. I think it really depends on how fresh the stock is that the florists use.

hydreandea is known for a very short life span once it has been picked- I highly advise against using it in bo-ks as well- it looks pretty, but after an hour or so, dies :(

the corsages for my mother, mil and grandmothers were hydrangea's and my centerpieces had hydrandea's they held up fine and they dry beautifully! We had a two gorgeous arrangements on either side of our sweetheart table that my MIL took home and made separate bo-ks out of them and dried them. I have them in a basket in my kitchen now (almost 1 /12 years later).

My florist said Hydrangea is not a good idea, especially in a Bo-K on a hot day because they wilt very fast.
