Hello Ladies..

I'm getting married at TOP.. so the closest park would be Flushing Meadow Park - not familiar with the area and the best 'spots' to take pics.. I know there is a canoe place around there.. and a zoo and of course the globe..are there any nice romantic flowery picturesque areas??

any idea how i'd go about blocking off the area for an hour or so..

TIA

Not really sure, but maybe calling the parks department to find out if you need a permit to take pictures on their grounds might be a start.

There aren't really any 'flowery' areas in Flsuhing Meadows Park, but the Queens Botanical Garden isn't too far away from Flushing Meadows Park and I've heard it's beautiful in there.

It might be tough to get theat part of the park blocked off. I think you'll need a special permit from the parks dept. I'm sure if you are taking pictures people will be mindful....especially if you don't want to go through the NYC red-tape.

yea, i think your best bet would be to go to the Botanical Gardens because Flushing Meadows doesn't really have flowery areas and I'm not sure about the permit situation.

Hey - I'm getting married at TOTP as well - another spot is downstairs in the garden cocktail room - there's an outside deck I think which is nice and since you're having it in May you can take pics there also. FH is big into pics so I may have to bear the cold and do it in October.

I think the globe is also your best bet- it really makes for an awesome backdrop.

But on another note..Yes (and I work for the Parks Department for Queens) you should check if you need a permit for the photos and the number to call is (718) 520-5900 and ask for the permits office. Explain what you want to do if you are going to take photos at Flushing Meadows and see what they tell you.

Unfortunately I don't work in the permit division or I'd post the right answer here
