Repost: Please pray for my cousin

Original post by robinandjoe

Girls,
I am not the most frequent poster, but I need your prayers,,,,my cousin, who is an 18 year old college freshman was hit by a car today while walking to class at JMU in Virginia. She is in critical condition and the neurosurgeons are on call to possibly have to go into her brain if it does not drain itself of blood. My family is a mess, and I feel so useless, except for the positive thoughts and prayers I can send her. She is a beautiful dance major named Bria. Please help me, I know you girls are positive thinkers!

UPDATE
Thank you so much for your prayers...I feel helpless except for that! SOme good news is that her brain is draining itself and she was able to come off of one machine. They are hoping to remove her breathing tube, too. They tried to take her out of sedation today, but each time she became very agitated and tried to pull out the tube. The good part is that she responded appropriately when asked to give a thumbs up if she understood them, and also to open her eyes. She was crying and very confused, so she is still sedated. We are all keeping our hopes up and the nurses said that everything she did today is normal after thr trauma she went through, Thanks again, girls. You are all so thoughful and sincere.
