we got ours as a gift from a friend.

i hadnt planned on getting flutes at all (it's not a jewish custom to do...) but she insisted! lol

We got ours from my godmother.
I've seen a lot of people register for them so it probably doesn't matter who buys them.

we got ours for free when we registered at crate and barrel. we used them at our wedding. But I don't think that they are a jewish custom....

I got mine as a gift from my Aunt but I think you can definitely give them to a friend.
