i had guaranteed 200 for my guest list.....but FI and I ...or shouldi a say I.... really looked at the guest list and it looks like we have about 250 people......and usually 30% is a no-show.....which gives us about 168 people.....
my question is....do you think i can ask the hall to change my minimum?...my wedding is a year and 1/2 away....not sure....FI says to leave ti alone....but i dont want to waste that extra $$....what do you think....PLEASE HELP!!!...

I had to guarantee 200 and then changed it to 175, but that was during the signing of the contract. I don't know if halls budge on that once the contract is signed, but you can always try.
You have to remember also if you are planning on feeding your DJ, Photo/Video, etc.. that can be included in that min # of guests.

Well, my hall told me that you can include your vendors if you do not reach your min # of guests. If you go over the min, then your vendors will be charged half price.
I am sure they all work that same way, but check it out. It might fill in a couple of spots that you are not wasting your $$ on.

I was told my min. was 200.... then I wanted to change my date and also lower my min.... I neg. by paying a few extra dollars more.... and then lowering my min.
O BTW... my min is now 150.... which I am thinking we will still have close to 200 but I didn't want my min to be 200... u just never know.

My hall told me I had to guar. 200 people. I have about 240 on my invite list. I just posted a question on the BHB board for past brides asking how many they invited and how many showed. I am in the same boat as you. Maybe they can help.

i just called....and they said NO... :( b/c they already had me at 250 when we were talking then at 200....when we sighed the contract.....so now that they have the 25% deposit...cant' change it any more any more advice?!?!

Did you send out your invitations yet? It's kinda sneaky, but if you send them out early, and have them respond with 1 and a half months to go, you can still send out more invites if you don't have your minimum....or tell younger relatives they can bring a friend...
