resigtered for pre-cana..

So I just resigtered for Pre-cana for you ladies getting married in a Catholic Chruch, the fee was $175... FH and i are doing the friday night and Saturday sessions in Nov

not all catholic churches are $175, some are $50...depends on whether its a parish or diocese...mine is $175 though but i think for each ...FH and i went online to register, answered the questions and little test they gave and then it gave us info to pay and we were like ahhhh we'll do this later, we didnt feel like getting up to get a CC and we never went back to do it but i have to do it real soon bc theres only one in october i can do and another end of november and didnt see others for this year but this is because were doing interfaith pre-cana

Yeah we going to a diocese and it was $ 175 per couple....we also had to answer questions and fill out the info requested... I'm glad we booked it now cuz sessions were fillings up, didn't think that they would fill up so fast!

I know neither did we, then i saw everyone here doing it for oct/nov ...ahhhh gotta do it this week...hopefully since were doing interfaith it wont get as crowded

How big are PreCana Classes?

oh no we would have to wait until april i dont want to do it a month before my wedding...OK gotta make sure to do this tonight

im not catholic either and doing it but were getting married in a church though. Well at least he cant complain to me about going bc its like HEY its bc of you were even doing this.

Well, you are in Qns, right? This is Dioces of RVC. Maybe you'll have more options

yes im in queens, but i didnt see anything after november for a while so it probably is like that.

the priest at my church told us to come back in January to do everything.. so i'm hoping it doesn't cost that much! My girlfriend got married there and said it wasn't too bad so i'm just keeping my fingers crossed.

It may not be that bad for you. Different churches have different fees. If we had been able to do pre-cana through our parish, it would actually have been free for us. But unfortunately bc of FH's work schedule, we have to go through the Diocese (Rockville Centre). Their fee was $250 for pre-cana and $50 for the FOCCUS.

thanks.. our fee for the church was higher than i was hoping (it went up for 2008 by $250 ) .. so maybe i'm cheap but pre cana is something i'm not looking to spend that much on..lol

Ours starts September 23rd. I can't wait to get it over with. Then it will feel like we are ready to get married since all the big things are over!

Im doing it through RVC diocese (my church is in RVS) its $75.00 and Sundays. Its starts Sept 9 and goes through till Oct 27 (i think)

How far before the wedding should pre-cana be done? I heard about six months. I'm not getting married until Oct. 08, so I figure I still have time. I think FH and I will be doing ours in Douglaston at the Immaculate Conception Center.

we paid $100 for both of us. the prices are so different with the exception of that like wedding weekend through the diocese (i think).

ours is like 3 hrs on one day....the last sat in oct. but we do have to schedule a time to take the focus test and go over the results before that day session. i cant wait to get this over with.
