Yes we got the 'oh yeah they are coming' Then they would call back and say they weren't coming...
As much as I looked forward to the responses, I hated them.

This is my fear!!!
And i hate the response part now too

I am not annoyed yet about the responses.

I am more annoyed that Phil decided to order more invitations. Yup, he called Laura and order more. So, now I will have another set of invites with a new RSVP date. Aren't I lucky?????

LOLOL...i was thiking of doing the EXACT same thing!!!!

Jennifer, you want to invite more people?

He is ordering 10 more invitations. Actually, I think Laura is making them herself. I am staying out of it. I just know those 10 will have a RSVP date of September 1st.

I know how you all feel/

I am waiting for at least 60 people to rsvp and my deadline is the 20th. You know what the worse thing is, I dont even know who I would like to invite on top of the people i already did.

I am getting so stressed that I wont meet my minimum.

I think everyone goes thru this , and hands down it was the BIGGEST thing that totally pi$$ed me off throughout the entire wedding planning process By the time of my cut-off, I was still missing about 1/4 of my replies. And I hate to blame it on DH, but it was entirely HIS people who negleted to reply!

In the end there were still about 15 formal RSVP's that noone ever bothered sending back to me .... the verbal answers bugged me too, because wouldn't you know it was the few people who VERBALLY said 'sure, we'll be there' that bailed on us the week before or were no shows!!!

Hang in there , ladies..in the end the people you truly want to be there will be there.. But yes, I know its totally frustrating !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Want to hear the funniest thing though? I'm now married 3 weeks and what did I get in the mail today? You guessed it -- a wedding REPLY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gotta love the USPS

This is the part of the wedding planning I am absolutely dreading the most. I know its going to drive me insane.

Is it possible to make the RSVP date much earlier than necessary in the hopes that at least there will be a little more back on time? Or is this unheard of?

I sent mine out early...i think i did anyway..I really don't think it makes a difference how early you send them...rude is rude
BUT if you think you will have a lot of If's i would send them out earlier so if you want you have the option to resend more invites!

Re: Response Annoyance

I hear you!!! I'm not annoyed YET but I know I will be by next week -- the 18th is my RSVP date... early yes, I know.... but I did that on purpose for the late RSVPers.... that way I get them before the true RSVP date in my head -- 9/1

You are definitely doing the right thing by not calling people yourself. You don't need the stress and more importantly, people are not as willing to say no to you directly. So they say yes and then back out later or WORSE, become NO-SHOWS!!

I'm having my MOH and one of my BMs start calling next week -- BEFORE the RSVP date!! LOL!!

My RSVP date is Wednesday and I'm still waiting on 128!!!

It certainly is annoying when people can't RSVP in time.I wish you luck in getting your responses in time.
