Response card wording help

Hi ladies!

I'm finally doing invites and wanted to know what you thought of this wording for the response card;

The favor of a response is requested by May 21, 2011.
We have reserved _____ seat(s) in your honor.

M____________________________________

_____ Accepts with pleasure

_____ Declines with regret

_____ Number attending

We are not inviting everyone with a guest since we are paying for the wedding ourselves and FH has been unemployed for the length of our engagement. I got this idea from LIW, the only thing that bothers me is that we'd have to fill in the number before mailing but I dunno if that's a big deal or not. Thanks ladies!

You could just take out
We have reserved _____ seat(s) in your honor
And hope that if ppl dont see the invite addressed to them and a guest that they won't bring one. However ppl dont surprise me and I think its even possible that if you put 1 in the box that ppl will fill in number of attending 2...LOL... I guess try to make it as easy as possible for you and hope for the best. I like the whole resposne card though.

i know many girls who have added the '__ seats reserved in your honor' because the budget is tight. if this is the case, there is no shame in filling them out before hand.

mine were almost identical to yours but without that sentence.

THIS IS A GOOD WAY
I will do mine the same!
IF you WRITE 1 seat for U, then Ppl will get the idea there is only ONE seat for them!
If U write TWO then ppl ge the idea of TWO...

I saw the __ seats in your honour on a friend's RSVP card last year and I didn't think it was tacky at all.. It may not be because of budget, it may just be because they don't want to squish guests in. They are Latino so you know that they had to make it clear who was and wasn't invited.

Write down how many people to prevent confusion

I agree. I don't think it's tacky at all.

However, I decided not to do it because I don't want people 'finding' guests to bring.

Like, for example, if I invite Mr. & Mrs. John Smith and Mrs. Smith can come but Mr. Smith can't, I don't Mrs. Smith to say 'oh, I have two 2 seats reserved for me so now I can bring a date.' Tough cookies - if you're not invited, you've not invited

maybe it's just because i know people in my family would do that
