i am assembling and mailing out my invites that are going to england and ireland today and my fiance just told me the response cards cant get US postage since the cards will be mailed back from the UK. i hadnt considered this before....is he right? is it rude to leave the response cards unstamped??

US stamps won't do any good. I'd just leave it blank unless there is a way for you to get stamps from Ireland and the UK?

Re: response cards to foreign countries
Your FH is correct.
I mailed invitations to Italy and did not stamp the RSVP cards. I only mailed a small amount - all of my guests called to verbally respond...their choice...

Re: response cards to foreign countries
I just had to deal with this last weekend. I had several invites going to Scotland, England and Canada. I was told I could get an IRC International Return Coupon. They were 1.75 each. What is it the person who got the invite goes to their post office with the coupon and gets their stamps. I choose not to do this because I know everyone overseas will be attending so it is up to you. Or you can write on the RSVP for them to verbally respond instead. Hope that helps.

Re: response cards to foreign countries
He is correct. I have 80 invitations going to Ireland/England and last time my time was in Ireland he picked me up the stamps for the RSVP cards but if you don't have time for someone to mail them to you then you should leave them blank.

I'm sending 2 invites to Singapore, stamped them anyway b/c I know they'll just call to RSVP anyway.

Re: response cards to foreign countries
yeah, we sent out 8 or 9 international invitations, with unstamped RSVP cards.... it's fine.
So far, we only received one of those RSVPs back.... I expect the others will be phone or email RSVPs.....

Re: response cards to foreign countries
Good question!!!!!! I'm in the same predicament. I have at least two or three invitations out of the country and although it costs me .83 cents to mail one to Africa, I wasn't sure how I should have them return the RSVP. If you could find out for us and post, or if I find out, I will post.....

it should be 84 cents for 1 oz or less, not 83 cents...... and the price seems to be the same no matter what the international destination (unless canada /mexico is lower?) we paid 84 cents for poland, germany, UK, australia, and bahrain....
ah the (useless) things you learn while planning a wedding

Re: response cards to foreign countries
I think the question is not how much does it cost to deliver internationally. The question is more how to address or stamp on the RSVP envelope since they cannot use US stamps to deliver to us. I know how much I've spent to deliver out there, but I don't know whether to leave the RSVP envelope without the return stamp.
