just out of curiosity, do you count Yes's once you receive the response back????

I am making no assumptions, which means I am not counting any Yes's until I receive the responses back & response card is in the box. I even forced my parents to fill out a response card.
The groomsmen are giving me a hard time about this. They keep saying, well we left a deposit on the tuxedo so we will be there so they don't want to send the response back. Its really annoying.

I am crazy or is this what everyone else is doing???

Re: responses

i'll allow them to verbally tell me ... i'll be writing everything down in an excel spreadsheet regardless (whether they tell me verbally, or via RSVP card) so it doesn't matter to me how i hear the 'yes' or 'no'....

i know what you mean bc i keep telling everyone (parents, bridal party...) that i know are coming that they have to send the response cards.

however...if u need to figure out your count i think you can add those groomsmen in without getting their cards back

I did not worry about the bridal party only a few of them sent it back, the only thing I need to know was if they where bring a guest, and we saw them all the time, so I just asked them.

That's what I've been doing. I just don't get whats so hard about putting it in the mail. I told them that since they are numbered they don't even have to write their name on it just the number of people.
I think that's really the issue. None of them are in dating relationships so I need to know if they are bringing a Guest or not. Arg.

I can not wait until the rest of our friends get married, I am going to torture them.

Re: responses

Out of 9 people in my BP, only 3 people sent us response cards, and 2 of them live together. I guess they just assume that since they are in the BP, you know that they are coming, but it is frustrating because we had to pester them towards the end if they were bringing a guest or not. DH's sister had said all along that she was bringing someone, then two days after we gave the RH a final number, she was like 'Oh, didn't Dad tell you that I'm not bringing a guest?' So I def understand where you're coming from... I can't wait to torture EVERYONE when it's time for their wedding!! lol.

Re: responses

I'm doing the same thing you are, I know many family members are assuming I know they are coming but my thing is, if I gave you an RSVP card then that means you still need to RSVP.

Even my Matron of Honor RSVP'd and obviously she's coming to the wedding.
