My father passed away yesterday, as I watched the paramedics and later the hospital try to revive him. I have not witnessed anything more difficult in my life and I am not sure how to handle it, I booked my wedding date 'rushing' in a way, because I knew he was sick and I wanted him to be there with us, now that he's gone im having second thoughts about the date or having a wedding at all, in the near future anyway. He was the only family I've had left. All I know, I have to be there for my younger brother ( 14y/0) and sister ( 10y/0 ) as they watched their dad pass away. Any ideas anyone might have on how to cope with something like this
I am so sorry for your loss. My best thoughts are with you.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Losing a parent is such a difficult thing. I lost my mother almost 10 yrs ago. She was also very sick. I did end up seeking counseling but for me I didn't do it right away. It definitely helped but when things first happened it took awhile to process before I felt ready to talk to someone. Hang in there, you and your family will be in my thoughts

I am so sorry to hear this. My thoughts and prayers are with you & your siblings. Take it one day at a time. Lean on your fiancé during this time. See what he wants to do, but continuing on with the wedding would be a good way to honor his memory.

I'm so sorry about your loss, and my condolences to you and your family. We just lost a close family friend yesterday too and it was so sudden, so I can only imagine how you must feel. I think you should def take some time and be with your siblings and console each other. Don't even think about the wedding right now, and just focus on them, and then when your thoughts are a bit clearer, then decide where you want to go in regards to your wedding. Again, very sorry for you loss. xoxo

So sorry about your loss! I can't imagine the pain your experiencing right now. I know how it is to try to 'rush' wedding plans for the sake of having a parent living to experience before an illness takes them. That happened to me last year when my fiance's mother was sick and passed away (at such an early age too). His mom was both of his parents since his dad wasn't in his life so when we get married, her not being there is definitely going to make the whole experience very bittersweet.
Once again I'm so sorry you're going through this. You and your family are in my prayers!

I am so sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine how you must be feeling...they say time heals everything but I don't know if that's true. I think it just makes you more numb to the loss. A dear friend of mine and my FH who agreed to be in our bridal party as a groomsmen was tragically killed in a car accident 3 days later. I still miss him every single day, but going about our lives and wedding planning picked up again over time but he is still always in the back of our minds and in our hearts. We've been trying to think of a special way to honor him at our wedding. Maybe you could do something like that at your wedding so he can still be part of your day. again I am so sorry and I will keep you in my prayers

I'm sorry about your loss. I lost my mom 4 years ago, it was sadly expected, but still hurt when she finally went. I can tell you that talking to someone helps.
Also, people grieve in many ways. Some people grieve in private, some grieve in more public ways. In my experience, I found keeping busy and being around friends really helped me through the process. You may find that wedding planning right now is too stressful, but maybe in a little bit of time, you may find some comfort in it. It's a sense of normalcy.
