Restaurant in NYC

FH and I are moving to Miami in a couple of weeks and one of our friends wants to take us out for dinner/drinks in the city. I have been to plenty of restaurants in the city since i lived there, but I can't think of any place to go as my last NYC meal.

My question is, if it was your last dinner in NY where would you want to go?

What type of food do you guys like?

My 2 personal favorites in the city are Sushi Samba and Blue Water Grill. So I would pick one of those. - But if you don't like seafood those places aren't helpful!!

I am a big fan of Dos Caminos on Park Avenue South.

I don't really have a preference of food...although not a fan of sushi. i LOVE italian, but can get that anytime. I just want it to be some place that is NYish if that makes sense.

quintessential ny? what about a classic like Da Silvano or a new place-- the new batali place, Del Posto?

I second Sparks! They have swordfish to DIE for!!

If you like italian, go for Il Mulino's in the city. it's the original restaurant of their's. they also have one in Miami so i'm not sure if you'd want to go there... but definitely go when you get teh chance. try teh langastines (sp?) and risotto. it's the rest's most pop dish.

i'm also a big fan of french so go for LE BERNADIN or JEAN-GEORGES to name a couple.

i agree with GRAMERCY TAVERN. the tasting menu is very good.

try Blue Hill .

which ever restaurant you do decide to go to enjoy it. enjoy your last nights here in nyc!

OMG tavern on the green-- nothing says NYC like tavern-- in the middle of central park LOVE IT!!!!!! their soft shell crab is to die for-- i have been dreaming about it since i had it about a year ago!!!

also, i was taken to Palm Upper West one time and it was phenominal... so those are my top two picks-- but tavern captured my heart lol

Hands Down... BLUE WATER GRILL. It's the BEST! It's 'our' restaurant for our special occasions.

Just went there for the first time and it was delish. Crazy expensive though...it was over $500 for 4 people!
