SO FH & I are undecided w/what we want to do; and we're considering cutting our guest list down to a max of 30 guests This would mean having the reception at a restaurant (private dining room)
does anyone have any suggestions?? In nassau or queens?? thanks

Re: restaurant reception?
II Mulino in Roslyn is great, they have a smaller room downstairs that is nice. They are a bit pricey but the food and service are excellent.

FIL had their daughters (FSIL) 21st b-day at Filomena's Restaurant in Franklin Square. has a sperate party room and a dance floor area - plenty of room for 30 people and a DJ.
They don't have a site but i found this that has some info: http://www.menufrog.com/restaurantdetails.php?restaurant_id=45668957

Re: restaurant reception?
Circa in Mineola is really nice, no private room though. Also, Giardino's in Douglaston is really nice, with 2 diff private rooms. They are now owned by the people that own Russo's on the Bay.

GREAT thank you for ALL the suggestions!! I'm going to take a look at these now! We're not sure what we want to do; but looking at the $$ of things; a nice small reception is looking really nice right now!

Re: restaurant reception?
Check out City Cafe in Garden City on Stewart Avenue. They have a crazy package deal that i think is like $30-35pp w/ an open bar, DJ, buffet dinner and cake. My cousin had his medical school graduation party there with like 50 people and it wasn't crowded at all - food was great too! My little cousin is having her communion party there on May 1st so I can let you know how it goes!
Also, you might want to check out La Parma in Williston Park. I know they added an extension that has a private room now. Not sure on pricing though.

Re: restaurant reception?
thanks ladies-but i don't know if we're gonna go this route-FH is having 2nd thought-he's saying he can't cut his list like how i REALLY want him to.
I just don't get it; he's like lets just go away; who ever comes comes (probably like 20 people) cause he doesn't care who's there...BUT if we have something there he needs like 80 people on just his list alone? WHAT? He's inviting people out of obligation!!!
At this point i'm like-if you want 80+ people there (total list of 125+) you you come up with the $$ to pay for them. I know i can only afford the original 75-80 we agreed on in total-he's gonna have to come up with the $$ for the additional 45 guests or in dollar terms $4K...or cut his list.
