Restaurant Recommendations please!

Restaurant Recommendations please!

So Saturday is our 6 month anniversary and we were originally going to go have dinner at Carmine's and then see Lion King but those plans fell through.

So we are going out to dinner and.... Any suggestions for what else we can do? I'm up for anything that doesn't revolve around drinking since I can't drink! Obviously, it's short notice so something that requires lots of advance planning isn't going to work. Also, can you recommend some restaurants -- again anything - any type of food! TIA!!

Manhattan or LI is fine. I wouldn't mind going into the city and I can convince DH though I know he would prefer Long Island.

Re: Restaurant Recommendations please!

My FH took me to Fiamma Osteria last year for my birthday...it's downtown, really cool decor and good food. Blue Water Grill is another one of our favorites...they have a Jazz Room which is really nice. We went to Gotham Bar and Grill for FH's birthday in January, though I'm not sure if you'll get a good reservation this late. (We made ours about a month in advance and the earliest we could go for dinner was 9PM!). I'll try to think of some others. Hope this helps.

Two italian restaurants I love, one city, one LI.

Tre Bambini in Lynbrook and Sunrise Highway,

Il Cortile on Mulberry Street (we had our e-party there )

Long Island: I would go to Nick & Maggie's in New Hyde Park, it is great. Maybe the Polo club at the Garden City Hotel. There is a great italian resteraunt in Bayside, Papazzio.

Manhattan: Some great little italian resteraunts to try are Becco or Vice Versa. Tao is really good. Or if you want something very special how about the Boathouse in Central Park or Tavern on the Green.

Sat. we are going to Restaurant Week in the Hamptons - Nick & Tonis -- maybe you could do something out on the east end?

If going to NYC -- try the TKTS line! We got in to see The Producers yesterday, and there were lots of shows up!!!

Have a great time, whatever you do!!

Oh forgot to add ...restuarants on LI: I love the West End Cafe in Calre Place but it;s not really romantic. The Bridge in West Islip is romantic and delicious tho!!

In the city my favorite is a tapas place called El Cid on 18th St. btwn. 9th & 10th -- fun, delicious, fun, nice prices, fun...!!

BUMPING -- looking for more suggestions since we still haven't picked one!

Has anyone been to Bellissimo on Merrick Rd in Massapequa? (I think it's Massapequa) Or how about Tesoro in Westbury?

We go to Becco every time we are in the city! Delicious! And very intimate. I also love .fifty seven fifty seven , in the Four Seasons Hotel, and the '21' Club.

My favorite resto on LI is 105 Harbor in Cold Spring Harbor. Great food, great atmosphere, across the street from the harbor. We're going there tonight for my birthday!
