Restaurant review - Fabio's Ristorante in East Meadow
I thought I would post a quick review from my son's christening celebration this past weekend. We held the reception dinner at Fabio's Ristorante on Hempstead Trnpk in East Meadow. I think it would be a great choice for a rehearsal dinner. There is a new private room that can accommodate up to 75-80 people. We had about 40 adults and 4 children.
The food was incredible! When we arrived, there was bread and bruschetta on the tables. The appetizers consisted of fried calamari and spicy fried calamari, baked clams and zuppa di clams, fried zucchini and mozzarella and tomato with fresh basil. Everything was super yummy!
Ensalada tri colore was followed by rigatoni fileto - fresh tomato, garlic, onion and basil - delicious!
The entrees were Veal Sorrentino (veal with prosuitto, eggplant and mozzarella); grilled swordfish; and chicken marsala. Each entree was served with a potato croquette and fresh vegetable. Everyone was stuffed and raving!
The meal was finished with a spectacular christening cake made by Cynthia Piethman of Cakeline Couture in Belle Harbor, NY. Cynthia also made our wedding cake last year and she is truly an artist - the cake was so beautiful. I hope to have pictures very soon. She stenciled butterflies in baby blue on the white cake. She also molded a bunny rabbit in sugar. The cross, made of sugar, was beautifully accented with sugar rosettes all around, and the two-tiers were topped with sugar ribbons - the ribbons even had stitching detail! I'm telling you, no one could believe this cake!
I cannot say enough about the service at Fabio's. Sal (the owner) and his staff were very professional and courteous and made sure that my husband and I (along with our friends and families) were satisfied all evening long.
I chose a very simple favor - Hershey bars with custom wrappers, made by Crystal International Gifts (also one of my wedding vendors). The bars came out adorable, and I was very happy with how quickly they were completed.
Also, I want to say a quick thank you to diamondgrl1 at Polara Jewelers in Bellmore. They were *very* helpful with the gifts that I chose for my son's godparents.
I almost forgot my last vendor - Flowers by Voegler - who made the coursage and boutinerre for the godparents, and three beautiful coursages for the two grandmothers and one great-grandmother, in honor of grandparent's day on Sunday. The flowers were fresh and lasted all day. Simply beautiful!
Any questions, just ask...photos to follow soon!

I was at the christening and I second everything that Claud says. The place was great. It would be very nice for a small wedding or a RD too.

How are their prices? I am looking for a place to have my RD but I will only have around 30 people. Will the room be too big? Thanks!Welcome New Vendors
