Restaurants in Long Island?

Restaurants in Long Island?

Hi All,
I am looking to have an intimate reception with about 50 people. Can you suggest a nice restaurant that I can hold it in Long Island?

Although it'll be small, I want it to be nice and still feel like a wedding celebration (I will have a small band). I don't want to share the same space with regular customers. I would love a place with a nice view.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

we had ours with 70 guests at Giorgios with a small 5-piece band -- although far, the view and facilities were GORGEOUS!

The Three Village Inn or the Country House in Stony Brook. Beautiful area!

The Milleridge Inn has separate rooms (Garden Room holds up to 80 people). Very pretty Spring/Summer (early Fall) all flowers and in late Fall the trees are in different color. I had my engagement party there, food was great. If you're having 50 people + music, it will fit nicely.

I second the Milleridge Inn- I had my RD there on 9/19 and it was awesome! The food was amazing - we had a private upstairs room for about 40 people - unlimited beer/wine, 3 course dinner plus cake, it was fantastic - for the price, you can't go wrong!!

I just checked out Giorgio's. I looked very nice, but it was a bit far. Any place in Nassau or close to Nassau you can suggest? The ceremony is going to take place in Queens.

Thanks again.

I highly recommend 105 Harbor in Cold Spring Harbor ! Their food was outstanding!!

I'm not sure if they can accomodate 50 people, but we had 30 and there was plenty of room for more!

JustJodi- that's a great idea! We originally looked at Chateau if we were going to have a bigger wedding. I never even thought of that. I'll defintely look into it. Did you have access to the outside? Thanks!!!

When we decided to so smaller, I was so upset because I liked my hall, and it had 'the wedding feeling' But Iw as determined to look around...
Here is what I found when I was looking:
Watermill (first choice) Bostonian Room
--gorgeous in and out
--service
--package
--minimum of 50 (max 75)
--price
Meadow Club (close second)
--price
--pretty garden
--minimum fit needs
--service
Molly Malones
--on water (dock for cocktail hour)
--food and service we trust (know owners)
--upstairs for just wedding
--minimum fit needs
Millerridge carriage house
--not much for outside
--thought too pricey for what offered/where
three Village
--Was waste of time (very disappointed, because we have been there for MANY functions--mothers day, new years eve, etc)

Did not go to:
56th, beach club estate.

Good luck!!!!

Thanks Ladies! You all are greatly reducing my stress. I will check these places out over the next week or so (I am planning to call Chateau and I will be going to 105 Harbor at the end of the week). I can't wait to see the other places. I'll let you know what I thought. I hope to book something.
