Restaurants near rockefeller center nyc

Can anyone recommend a good restaurant that is somewhat near the tree in the city or by the theatre district since my FH and I are going to see Jersey Boys and then the tree after in December.

any food is good just no steakhouses or sushi

Del Frisco's is across the street from Rockafeller & fantastic. It's at 1221 ave of the americas (6th ave & 49th street).

Try lamb and risoto.Exelent food,nice service and goood vine!You will enjoy there.

Dos Caminos is very good, but not near Rock Center. Rosa Mexicano is better than DC and is in the Lincoln Center area...it's delicious!

Also look into...DaRosina (excellent Italian food at very reasonable price fixe), Divine Bar West (great wine list and tapas/small dishes), City Crab & Lobster (seafood) and Victor's Cafe (Cuban).

I have tons of other recommendations, too. Just let me know what type of food you are interested in.

I lived and worked around the theater district for a few years and here are my favorites:

Victor's -- amazing cuban food and directly across the street from Jersey Boys

Scarlatto -- a bit upscale Italian -- the ravioli is some of the best I've ever had!!

I also second Bar Americain. I've been there numerous times and has been consistently delicious each time.

If you or your FH is are meat lovers, I also highly recommend Churasacria Plataforma (on 49th btw 8th and 9th). It's a Brazilian steakhouse with trememdous portions and just overall a really fun experience!

They are by far the BEST restaurant I have eaten at. Crabcakes, filet mignon...mmmmmm

thanks girls!!! I always wanted to try victors!!! I love cuban food, mexican, and italian the best...and asian but FH is not so much into sushi. Let me know of any others!!!

rock center cafe!!!! its the restaurant with the glass that is on the same level as the ice rink... so romantic and the food is really good!! we ate there last year when we went to see the tree. im pretty sure they had a price fixed menu.. i had the crabcake.. delicious!!!

ETA: i know it sounds sort of touristy and cheesy but it was so fun! we never do the tourist thing but this was totally worth it!!

Dos Caminas is AMAZING! I live in NYC and that place is really fun! Also try Rosa Mexicana (the closest one to the tree is w. 62 and Columbus)... you could also try the Rock Center Cafe at Rockefeller Center! Have fun!

if you like BBQ, Johnny Utah's is right across from the tree. DH and I did the same thing last year, show, tree and dinner. The food was sooo good!!! and they have a bull you can ride!

seems like you like spanish food so victor's cafe would be a good option. Theres also cabana which is cuban food and not THAT far from the tree but definitely not right there either.

I also love tony dinapoli's

plataforma is also in the theater district, its brazilian food and delicious.

There is also a Houston's that is not that far away, its like 53rd street by lex. The spinach and artichoke dip is amazing, plus nice atmosphere

Also in the theater district is this very delicious italian restaurant called pietrasanta on 47th street and 9th ave. The food is amazing, everything is so fresh and alot of things on their menu are not the typical stuff you find at just about every italian place and they make fresh bread in this brick oven and whenever they take it out of the oven they come around and give it to whomever wants it.
