Oh no! Who did you speak to??? I only had success there when I spoke to the owner/banquet manager .. Fred or Frank. He got us exactly what we wanted .. while a lady there made it seem impossible to book our Rehearsal Dinner.

I'm not sure, it was whomever answered the phone. As soon as I said party in December they said BOOKED!
I just called La Grange and they need a 30 person guarantee...

Okay, first off .. that sounds lousy that you barely got your words out and Irish Coffee Pub is saying BOOKED. Maybe they are, but they could at least hear you out.
As for La Grange .. you should find out what happens if you book a party for 35, and maybe only 20-25 show up if there's bad weather or some other reason.
At La Grange .. the man who helped me with my mom's party .. I believe his name was Ian .. I think the place has changed hands since that party .. but maybe he's still there.
I'd recommend asking to speak with the banquet manager for any place you call.
