Retirement Party

OK... my mom is retiring in June (shes a teacher). Do I throw her a retirement party? I know shes gone to a whole bunch @ school for others. Does she have 2? Whats the deal??

When?? Before or after the one at work?? Who do I invite?? People from work who already go to her other party or other friends? Do I do it before the end of school or right after??

DO IT, DO IT !
I say you have it maybe a week after the school year ends, so that everyone has more free time, and no excuses about being bogged down with end-of-schoolyear stuff.
What would your mom want ? smaller and more intimate or a BIG BASH ??
i threw a 60th for my MIL last year, and i dug up everyone in the address book, even people she hadnt seen in 30years, and they came!
make it special !!! im getting excited for her !!

edited to say, that i was told by a few peple that my MIL HATES surprises, she hates being the center of attention, but she was touched beyond words that day, she was in AWE all day.....
