Returning a Gown to David's Bridal Update

Has anyone ever done this? I'm second guessing my gown choice and thinking about going back to try on more gowns. I bought mine off the rack and it still is in the bag with all tags with the receipt. I know I can't get my money back, but, would they give me a credit so I could apply it towards another dress in the store? tia

*Update* I went to the store in Lake Grove tonight and they were SUPER nice. I explained my situation to the manager there and she said she would exchange the dress with no problem.

Im not sure, does it say anything on the receipt about exchanges?

I was at David's yesterday buying shoes and they made me sign a receipt that said 'all sales are final'. I guess it can't hurt to try and get store credit. If they don't you could always try selling the dress here or on ebay. Good luck

I exhanged my dress for another one, but this was almost 6 years ago. Just call them and see what they say. I think they give you a certain amount of days to exchange.

Have you tried selling it on Ebay?

usually you sign something that says sales are final, but my neighbor works for davods bridal and said if you make a big enough stink they will work with you

A Teacher I work with two weeks ago exchanged hers b/c she had a bad dream. They took it back b/c she had the receipt and tags. It should work.

Tell them that you lost some weight and one they let you try another one, then tell them how you no longer like it.
I actually did loose weight and they happily ordered me a new one.

I know that people hate the David's in LIC, but they where great to me.

They told me I could exchange for something of equal or higher value and whatever I got they had to have it in the store because they would be able to order it.

Yes they will let you echange for another dress that is the same or greater value.

I am pretty sure you can only exchange it for size. The manager in the one near Fortunoff seems really nice, but you would probably have to make a huge stink. Offer to exchange it for another style that they have in the store (as long as that is OK with you). For whatever reason, they are always trying to get you to take the store sample...HTH

I called and asked them this question about 2 weeks ago,(i've lost 38 lbs and need a smaller size) they said as long as you have the reciept and no alterations were done they would exchange it.
