certificate/plaques on his wall when we went to meet with him. I'm sure he told me he was, but I can't remember. Now you have me wondering! I'm sure he is (and April) as they are mentioned and recommended by lots of people on this board. but, if you hear how we can check, let us know! Now I'm curious!!!!!!

I met with them. I decided against them for other reasons, but I think I remember him saying he was a licensed and ordained minister of the State of NY. I THINK. I am sure if you call him he can explain it better.
I remember his wife Judy telling me that Joe has been ordained. He's done so many weddings and his wife Judy is so organized that i'm sure he's licensed to marry us. We've met with them already and just loved them. We didn't meet with anyone else but them and we booked them right away. We were thrilled that they were available on our date. You should meet with them first and they'll answer all the questions you want. We were at their house for about 3 hours. Good luck and keep us posted.
It is a scary thought that you get married and then find out it was not a legal ceremony. I just saw the fox 5 problem solvers about Rabbi Heller who has been marrying people, taking their $$ and he is no licensed. People who were married by him are wondering if thier marriage is legal. Very Scary.
I'm glad yau had the same experience! We love them, but I'm sad to day that I had doubts, perhaps b/c of all this in the news. I just find it comforting that someone else feels the same way. thank you.

Your welcome. They were highly recommended by the brides from this board so that is why I called them and made an appointment. We didn't know what to expect because they were our first meeting with a officiant. All this news does get me worried too but you have to remember that those untrustworthy vendors/venues are 1 in a thousand. That is why I'm so addicted to this board because other brides help me. good luck.
