Review of Fresh Diet
Hey all - I just figured I would give you a review on Fresh Diet. It's basically was used to be the Zone diet but they changed the name. I got a 7-day trial for about $24 a day so I went for it. I will start by saying it is very convenient. They magically would drop it off sometime in the night, it felt like a little food fairy! Magical.
My first peeve was there is no calorie information. I emailed them asking how could I tell how many calories I was eating and they said 'between 1200-1400'. Hmm...okay...I found that strange since every one is different and needs different amounts. They didn't ask about my weight, height, etc. They just had me choose food. The menu sounds great but when you get it, it's a disappointment.
Everything is NON-ECO-FRIENDLY packaged. That bothers me. But I got over it. They give you microwave times and while the food may look fresh to begin with, the minute they get nuked, it looks gross. Things loose their consistency, color, etc. Some things were tasty (mostly the non-heated stuff) but others were really gross. I had a pork loin which was SO FATTY I couldn't get it down. I'm a fan of pork loin so this was a shame for sure. Their muffins were probably the tastiest thing to be honest.
Now...for the SIZE of everything. I swear I feel like they could easily do without the sauces and the extra calories that make it sound fancy and give a little more substance. Sometimes I would just laugh hysterically at how SMALLLLLLL the portions were. My coworkers would get a kick out of seeing what came out of my bag every day.
