RH appointments

RH appointments

FH and I are finally getting to looking at RH's...how long should I allow for each appointment? We're planning to go on a weekday afternoon, so hopefully they won't be too busy.

How many could I hit in one day? All halls are in the Glen Cove/Roslyn/Westbury area so not too much travelling required.

Thanks!!

Re: RH appointments

it can seriously vary so greatly. One place we were there 30 mins and another place we were there 2 hours lol. We waited bc they ended up bringing us out some food to try and also they asked if we wanted to wait to see the rooms set up since there was a wedding that day. So we waited until they finished setting up the rooms so we can see what it looks like.

But of course if you were to have another appointment after, you can just say you have to leave and can't stay around. I would say to give yourself about 30mins to an hour at each place.

i agree... i would say allow yourself at least an hour. But one time i set up 2 appointments in a row and we had a VERY chatty BM that talked about how each food tasted in detail LOL... but other than that experience i was okay w/ the timing

I'm looking at:

Sans Souci
Swan Club
West. Manor
Fox Hollow
Stew. Man. CC
GW Manor
Metropolitan

Do I have to call each place for an appt, or can I just show up and wander around a bit? I'm sure there will be some places I walk into and immediately cross off my list!!!

i would call for an appointment. You want to make sure there is a bm who can sit down with you and talk to you about everything. Plus they have to show you the rooms

I left an hour in between appointments and in most cases it wasn't enough. I was freaking out at one that I would miss the next. Do yourself a favor and schedule one every two hours. It means less in a day, but it will save you some stress.

If you want to view Swan club for a saturday you have to make an appt and they only have appts until 11am.

Allow yourself a decent amount of time, because some places there will be more to look at and more to go over. Also go prepared with a notebook and a pen to write things down, and have your questions ready to go.

Give your self about 11/2 tto hours between appointment if not you will start freaking out about how late you are.

Also call and make appointment don't just show up that way they will have someone who will show you around and can answer all your questions.

Re: RH appointments

When you make an appt, ask how long you should allow for an appt. Some places recommend 45 mins, some 1 hour+.

I'd allow about 2 hours b/w all appts, depending on how long it'll take you to drive from point A to point B.

Most places we saw took about 45 min. Depending on how far away the halls are, you can probaly hit up 4 or 5 in a day, IMO
