RH changing their story about using outside vendors
Went to make a payment this morning and asked to get a waiver for our florist who is not one of their preferred vendors. In July, we were told this was fine, but when we met with another BM this morning, we were told we HAD to use a house vendor. Our florist spoke with the BM, and we are awaiting approval. Cross your fingers we are approved to use our florist, because I can't afford to use one of the house florists.
So annoyed that the story changed

Is it in your contract that you need to use one of their vendors? This just doesn't seem fair...Hope it all works out.

Re: RH changing their story about using outside vendors
It says that, but is not checked off. We were told by our BM when we booked that we can use outside vendors, but would have to obtain insurance forms. our BM is out because she is undergoing physical therapy for an injury, so she wasn't there to reiterate that conversation.

Then the lady said 'oh we have great house florists' and I said 'well, I cannot afforf your house florists.' I'm sorry, I'm not paying $3,000 for something that will die in 2 days, I guess there will be NO FLOWERS at my wedding if the head BM does not approve our florist's forms.

Re: RH changing their story about using outside vendors
I am so angry right now. I kind of figured it was too good to be true when everything came together yesterday. There are days when I regret booking our RH, because I feel that they make affordability impossible. All these little things I'm just finding out, now hearing that there may be up to THREE weddings at once with one bathroom, are you kidding me? I knew we should have looked at Woodbury CC. Totally discouraged and disgusted.

Honestly I would create a sh!t storm because of this.
I would keep calling until you talk to the BM who gave you permission, or the owner.

I've calmed down a bit, just crossing my fingers that my florist gets approved, especially since they were more than happy to fax over their insurance papers as soon as possible

Who is your BM? mine is Sharon, but she's out after an injury, so we met with someone new, whom I learned is training.

You do not have to pay to use an outside vendor.
They have in their contract that you have to use a preferred vendor for the florist. You can negotiate this out of the contract but if you dont it is in there.

Re: RH changing their story about using outside vendors
Did you get an actual quote from the florist (in house)?
You may be able to get smaller bouquets or less expensive flowers/centerpieces.
Also, I have been to parties at CHCC with 300+ people and another party downstairs, the bathroom was NEVER a problem. It's HUGE. My fiancé's company has their Christmas party there every year and it is PACKED, the entire upstairs is for them. I never remember having an issue with a crowded bathroom.
The place is great, the food is great, and I'm sure (hope) you got a reasonable price. Don't fret!
