RH Deposit

What is the usual reception hall deposit? Straight amount or percentage? Check, cash, credit card? Thanks ladies.

I really think it depends on the hall.

At all the places I've been to, they asked for an amount--usually about $1,000.

mine is percentage (i.e 10% of what you gave as a minimum). cash or check.

Mine was also $1000, check. Other places that I looked at seemed to be $1000-$1500.

mine is 1000$ down. then 1000$ every other month for 4 more payments. so a total deposit of $5000.

I think I got lucky!!!
Mine was $500 down and then pay as time goes on..
So we are doing $1000 every month to be finished about 2 months before the wedding...
We gave check... But I think they took anything...
Most places I think are about $1000 if not more for a deposit..

Mine was 10% (credit) and then we're paying 2 - 20% payments due 1 year and 2 months out and 6 months out (check). The rest is due by check two weeks before!

A lot of the places I went to it was 1000 to secure and hold the date, with additional payments of 1k to 1.5k over the next few months, mostly cash, check, or cashiers check. I didnt see any that took credit card
