What is the usual reception hall deposit? Straight amount or percentage? Check, cash, credit card? Thanks ladies.

mine was $500, either cas/check/credit card, then there were two payments of $1000 each, and now we don't owe anything til right before the wedding.

wow, mine was 3,000. That seems a little insane after reading all these other posts, but maybe that's because I didnt book the date until February for a November wedding? I have no idea why it was so high.

I think it depends on the place, mine was 1,500 and the rest is due 2 months before the wedding.
