Re: RH Factor

I just had my 13 week check up tonight and my doctor told me that I am RH negative and all that it means is that I have to get a shot towards the middle of my pregnancy, and then right after I give birth. That the likely hood that the baby will be a positive RH (because FH has 0 positive and I am 0 Negative). He made it seem like it was not big deal, I have yet to do my normal 'research' yet though. So any other information anyone has would be extremely helpful.

Re: RH Factor

I'm Rh-
It's really nothing to worry about. You get the one shot I think after 6 months & again after delivery. In case you are exposed to the baby's blood. Bascialy it's so your antibodies don't try to destroy the babies positive blood. It also protects you in the future if you have another baby. I have a small booklet on it, if you like I can mail it to you. I think it came from the drug company. I'll have to go find it for you.

Re: RH Factor

I'm RH negative as well

It's really not a big deal as long as they know you are RH negative. You get a shot of RhoGam in your 3rd trimester and one again after delivery if your baby is RH positive.

Re: RH Factor

Same here I have the Rh Factor and it's a shot around twenty or thirty something weeks , I forgot it's on your hip kind of. It's not so bad

Unfortunately my daughter inherited my negative blood type so she'll have to go through the same things as me when she's becomes a Mommy someday
