Thanks for your responses to my previous post. I visited Crest Hollow Saturday evening. I thought it was lovely but need to go back for a tour, as there were weddings going on.
I have scheduled appointments at the following RH this weekend: Chateau Briand Surf Club Terrace on the Park Leonards of Great Neck Floral Terrace Glen Island Harbour Club
Spoke w/ Chateau La Mer, they cannot accommodate more than 350 guests.
Any thoughts on the RH I will be meeting with? What other RH do you think I should visit? Any likes and dislikes about the places I will be visiting this weekend?
Looking for a RH which can accommodate b/w 400-450 guests on a Sunday night end of July or early August.

Definitely check out Jericho Terrace. The Skylight Room is the biggest room at JT and it can easily accomodate up to 450 without a problem. It is a very pretty room with a great ivy-drapped skylight overhead. Definitely give JT a try and if you go, talk to Rob because he is excellent and very accomodating. GL
JT has rooms that are about $85pp but the skylight room is more than other rooms, when they use the whole room that is. I used the skylight room and starting price is quite a bit over $100 and she wants it for under $100.
I love JT and they did a great job for my wedding but for the price youre looking for theyre gonna charge more than you want to spend for their biggest room so not really worth it to go there.
I have a quick q about JT & the skylight room in March (early March) how much is it per head would you guesstimate???? I have a friend who is saying its about 160 per head. No upgrades all basic normal menu. Reg. bar top shelf. 350 guests. U think???
it might be that for 09 not sure though, my starting price was just a little bit lower than that but i also added a bunch of extras so in the end i ended up paying more than that per head. I think she could've negotiated for a bit less though. Did they throw anything in for free? if not then tell her to try and get some thing thrown in for free. I added extras that i had to pay for but i also got other things for free too
But i also booked in october of 06 so i got prices from 06, so might be possible for it to be that now. When i booked it was also still 18%, it went up to 20% after i booked

Also, our menu is $175 per head with tax & gratuity but it is not a basic menu. It is one of their most expensive menus. Basic menus, like I said in prior post, are like $85-100 plus tax & tip.
My friend is a wedding planner & she said for March with a descent menu shouldnt be more then 80/85 per person. She said 160.00 she was exaggerating. I just want to know so i put the correct amount in the envelope. Also because i have a friend who just got engaged & was asking for aorund May & when the other girl said 160.00 for March i was like no way. Im feb & on Valentines day & im not paying 160 per head! Its impossible & i have the best of everything.
I appreciate your help.
i also just remembered that when we went to first look at JT, we were asking about may of course but also asked about last weekend in April and they said the last weekend in april will be about the same as may since its also getting very popular. But March i do remember was a bit lower so honestly with no upgrades of any kind she should be paying a little bit less. Unless prices went up that much.
Also keep in mind that some halls are peak season during those months. Halls by the water of course will charge more during the summer. But other halls actually do real good business fall/winter months so there wont be a big difference in price. I still think she could've gotten it for a bit less

This is true .. some halls with beauitful views inside the RH charge ALOT more during the winter months because there are good pic opps inside the hall. Leonards charges more in the winter months than in the summer months

I understand that. I mean Im at the fox hollow & they are totally for winter in my opinion. which is why i choose them. And on Vday. But in beginning of March i dont think she is paying that much. With tax/grat im thinking more like 110/120 (like me). Anyway i really dont care. Ill just put in enough anyway. lol
