Thanks for your responses to my previous post. I visited Crest Hollow Saturday evening. I thought it was lovely but need to go back for a tour, as there were weddings going on.
I have scheduled appointments at the following RH this weekend: Chateau Briand Surf Club Terrace on the Park Leonards of Great Neck Floral Terrace Glen Island Harbour Club
Spoke w/ Chateau La Mer, they cannot accommodate more than 350 guests.
Any thoughts on the RH I will be meeting with? What other RH do you think I should visit? Any likes and dislikes about the places I will be visiting this weekend?
Looking for a RH which can accommodate b/w 400-450 guests on a Sunday night end of July or early August.

Re: RH for 2009 Wedding - Still need to Book!!!
would you prefer westchester or LI? or you dont care either way. JUst saying since 2 of the halls you listed are in westchester and this would help with narrowing down your choices. You also have one in queens, so curious if you prefer any area in particular over the other
Also i think i remember from your last post how much you want to spend and i can say that glen island can be pricey and same with surf club

Re: RH for 2009 Wedding - Still need to Book!!!
I dont have a preference in terms of location. The ceremony will take place on the Saturday, so there won't be an issue of driving from one place to another.
I know some places may be a little over what we are budeting but I think it's late in the game and they may try to work out something we are both happy with. I know most RH are already booked by now for summer 2009, and if they aren't...it could be a plus for us.
Thanks for your input =)

you get deals at an rh when its less than 6 months away so its not there yet but who knows. I do know that glenn island, they are over $150 pp, i think a decent amount over.
Actually what i would do is call ALL these places now, ask if they have certain dates available that you had in mind. Some won't but some will and this will help narrow rh's down right away. Once you narrow it down based on availability then it will be alot easier for you.

Have you checked into hotels? You seem to need a pretty large place for your guest size, and I know hotels often have really large ballrooms.

Definitely check out Jericho Terrace. The Skylight Room is the biggest room at JT and it can easily accomodate up to 450 without a problem. It is a very pretty room with a great ivy-drapped skylight overhead. Definitely give JT a try and if you go, talk to Rob because he is excellent and very accomodating. GL

You might be able to work some deals with pricing since you are looking at Sunday night and over 300 people.
I happen to really like the Surf Club. Chateu Briand does a nice job as well.

JT has rooms that are about $85pp but the skylight room is more than other rooms, when they use the whole room that is. I used the skylight room and starting price is quite a bit over $100 and she wants it for under $100.
I love JT and they did a great job for my wedding but for the price youre looking for theyre gonna charge more than you want to spend for their biggest room so not really worth it to go there.

I have a quick q about JT & the skylight room in March (early March) how much is it per head would you guesstimate???? I have a friend who is saying its about 160 per head. No upgrades all basic normal menu. Reg. bar top shelf. 350 guests. U think???

Re: RH for 2009 Wedding - Still need to Book!!!
Update on my search....
Glen Island Harbor - Spoke with Rocco this morning and it's over our budget.
Surf Club - over our budget
Jericho Terrace - cannot go with because we have a few menu restrictions that are only available for receptions Monday-Thursdays.

Re: RH for 2009 Wedding - Still need to Book!!!
How about Bridgeview Yacht Club in Island Park? I am having my wedding there on a Friday night - They only have one wedding at a time and the room is huge - I believe can fit the size you have. The ceilings are high and it is nice and open for the amount of people you have. If you want anymore info let me know:)

Re: RH for 2009 Wedding - Still need to Book!!!
JT has menus that start at something like $85 per head plus tax & gratuity so that'l be around a $100 and that was a basic menu quoted for the summer months. March is not as popular so the price might be lower plus the skylight room is often used i its partitioned format so by having that many people ther during a slow month, the price would probably be no more than $100 per head already with tax & gratuity included. Only a guess but it seems reasonable. Also, can always negotiate with JT.

Also, our menu is $175 per head with tax & gratuity but it is not a basic menu. It is one of their most expensive menus. Basic menus, like I said in prior post, are like $85-100 plus tax & tip.

My friend is a wedding planner & she said for March with a descent menu shouldnt be more then 80/85 per person. She said 160.00 she was exaggerating. I just want to know so i put the correct amount in the envelope. Also because i have a friend who just got engaged & was asking for aorund May & when the other girl said 160.00 for March i was like no way. Im feb & on Valentines day & im not paying 160 per head! Its impossible & i have the best of everything.
