RH for 2009 Wedding - Still need to Book!!!

Hi All,

Thanks for your responses to my previous post.
I visited Crest Hollow Saturday evening. I thought it was lovely but need to go back for a tour, as there were weddings going on.

I have scheduled appointments at the following RH this weekend:
Chateau Briand
Surf Club
Terrace on the Park
Leonards of Great Neck
Floral Terrace
Glen Island Harbour Club

Spoke w/ Chateau La Mer, they cannot accommodate more than 350 guests.

Any thoughts on the RH I will be meeting with? What other RH do you think I should visit? Any likes and dislikes about the places I will be visiting this weekend?

Looking for a RH which can accommodate b/w 400-450 guests on a Sunday night end of July or early August.

Try The Inn at New Hyde Park. Their ballroom is large enough for 400 guests (possibly more).

I do not think Chateau Briabd of Floral terrace accomodate that number but I would call and ask.

Terrace on the Park has very large rooms. I once went to a 600 person event there.

I know Terrace on the Park can definately hold that amount of people.

In fact I went there last month, my only thing is I did not like the small room I was gettting.

I had my prom there 7 years ago and we had one of their ballrooms with the outdoor balcony. That's more of what I had in mind. I didn't like that the small room would be for my CH as well... they would partician half of it off Very nice place but it just wasn't offering what we were looking for with our size wedding (tops 130 guest)

I do think they can, but I have been to many events there and their food isnt that great. Try Leonards of Great Neck or westbury manor

you can never go wrong with the Chateau Briand. It is owned by Scotto Brothers and they are by far the best out there!

I'm getting married at VIP Country Club in New Rochelle and I know that the rooms open up to make the 2 rooms into one big one. I don't know how many it holds but I think it's around what you are looking for...and the place is really beautiful!

This is a matter of preference honestly bc I did not care for the food at Leonards ...Westbury had great food when I went but I dont know if they have a spcae large enough for your party.

Update on my search....

Glen Island Harbor - Spoke with Rocco this morning and it's over our budget.

Surf Club - over our budget

Jericho Terrace - cannot go with because we have a few menu restrictions that are only available for receptions Monday-Thursdays.

Carlyle on the Green has a huge square shaped ballroom. It can hold up to about 400 people.

Why don't you check out Oheka Castle? I'm having my wedding at Jericho Terrace which I believe can accommodate that many ppl as well.

I know Fountainhead had a HUGE room -- we actually didn't go with them because the room would have swallowed up our 175 people.
It is located in New Rochelle.

Another idea is the de Seversky Center at NYIT. I think they can hold 300 people or so ...
