RH frustration!

Original post by LoveyDovey

FH & I went to see two more places today...Hamlet Willow Creek and Bellport Country Club

neither are options at this point...

I feel so frustrated and feel like we are never going to find a place. We got engaged in november, have been together 5 years, were talking about the wedding months and months before the engagement and I feel like we should have a place already!!

there's only 2 more places left to see tomorrow and then im all out of ideas!!

did anyone else feel this frustrated with their RH process?

we want one wedding at a time- something simple and classy- think country club style

so far we've seen

Land's End
Woodbury CC
Chateau La Mer
Captain Bill's
Hamlet Willow Creek
Bellport CC
Riviera Massapequa

must have an outdoor ceremony area

any suggestions? I know I had a similar rant before, but hoping you ladies can help one more time!

oh, going to see Timberpoint CC and Hamlet Windwatch tomorrow

TIA!

I agree with many of the other suggestions. Sunset Harbor is also nice.

Thanks ladies!

I got a few more ideas!

question about the old field club-- where is the CH?

Def Old Field Club!! It is understated, elegant, and gorgeous (also one wedding per day)!! The ceremony can be either indoors/outdoors depending on weather, and same for the CH. The food for the CH is indoors (2 areas that are connected) and also an outdoor deck where they put tables and chairs out for the CH. I have some pics in my album of part of the CH area. FM me with any questions!

we were going to see the old field club but someone said the ch and reception were in the same room?? i guess they were wrong?

Yes they were def wrong. The cocktail hour is completely separate from the ballroom and you also have the outdoor deck you can use in additional to the cocktail hour space. Check out my album -- you will see one of the areas along with the deck used during the cocktail hour (there is also another area used during the CH that I don't have pics of though).

i just booked the crest hollow also , the prices were really good and they have like 14 acres of property and like 3 or 4 different out door places to have your ceremony.

I looked at Old Field Club and the CH is not in the same room. The CH room is very small if you take away the outdoor space. We ended up not choosing OFC because we're getting married in October and the chance of bad weather was too great. I would say you could fit 50-60 people in the CH room if you don't use the outdoor space. (There is a tent over the outdoor space, which wouldn't be bad for warm rain in the summer, but in October I thought it would be too cold). The guy there was very nice and they'll basically make anything you want, because its only your wedding that day.

The tent isn't always there, they actually have a connection to a rental company where you can rent the tent from. I spoke to the former BM there and he said that we could tell them up to a week before whether or not we wanted the tent and they would organize it for us.

Re: RH frustration!

You should definitely check out the thatched cottage. The ceremony is outside on the water and the cocktail hour is indoor and outdoor. Beautiful places for pics.
