RH Help

Hello all!
My fiance and I are planning to get married in October of 2010 and don't know where to begin when it comes to RH shopping. We know we will probably have 150 guest or less and the last time we visited Chateau La Mer we love it and the food. However I don't want to limit myself to the one place. I have a friend who got married outdoors in October of 2008 in Queens so I guess it happened to be a really nice autumn day. If weather permits I would love to have an outdoor cocktail hour. Also I have to have a place with Grounds. Nothing that u just drive up to and there it is (ex. Floral Terrace).
So far from wensites and magazines I like CLM, The Inn at New Hyde Park, North Ritz Club... does anyone happen to know their rates for a Saturday or Sunday in October. Do these places let you try their food? First deposits?
Also my ceremony will proabably be in Queens. Is it unfair to ask people to drive to suffolk county if I happen to book CLM???

Re: RH Help

try fox hollow, their rates are really reasonable and they have nice gardens. i'm having my CH outside if weather permits (crossing my fingers). Westbury Manor also has really nice gardens/layout.

The Inn @ NHP is GORGEOUS my sister had her wedding there.... but might be a bit pricey depending on what your range is.

ETA: i think people will drive from your ceremony to your RH w/ no problems, your close friends/family will be there no matter what!

Re: RH Help

Westbury Manor, Crest hollow, Fox Hollow all have outdoor CH and beautiful grounds. You might want to consider one of those!

Re: RH Help

I don't think you're asking a lot to drive from Queens to Suffolk. It's your day and your family & friends will be there to support you.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think CLM is in Lindenhurst right? So it's not even that far into Suffolk at all.

Re: RH Help

Fox Hollow, Westbury Manor? If you want to stay in Queens, check out Douglaston Manor!

My ceremony is in Queens and RH is in Nassau- near suffolk border. People would drive out but depending on the night of the week traffic could be an issue (Friday?).

I was quoted 85pp at Douglaston and 75pp at Fox Hollow for Friday's in Sept. and Oct. If you want the best rate, wait until September/Oct. to book.

The outdoor CH is for the Garden Terrace Room only. If you're in the Wintergarden or Briarfox I don't think it's an option.

Re: RH Help

I'm a October 2010 bride as well... We checked out Fox Hollow... Cocktail hour outside is a possibility.... Jericho Terrace cocktail hour not outside but a beautiful cocktail hour room....Chateau Briand is where we decided on... cocktail hour outside is available.... and all these places are in nassau so its closer than suffolk if you decide for the ceremony in queens... FM me if you want prices..
