I'm getting discouraged. Am I the only one who has NOT booked my R.H. yet??
I didn't realise this was going to be so time consuming.Some places I've called, my dates is booked.
Did all you 08 brides book your hall yet??

Yeah, I booked my hall the weekend after I got engaged, in late January, that was the first thing I booked... When I booked my date it was a year and a half away and that was the last date in July available! The dates really book up fast...I think you should definitely have a list of all of the halls you want to look at and give yourself a target date that you want to book your hall by...If you have time on the weekends, you should be able to visit 6 or 7 halls between two days...HTH!

i mean..you have time..but i went to places that had dates booked for 2009 already!! If you guys have your hearts set on a date then I would try to book soon.

There are many 08'ers that havent book their hall yet. Which ones are you looking into to? You should def start soon bec they may be booked solid for you desired dates.

Thanks. I amgoing to look at 3 tommorow, 3 sunday and more during the week.
I'm getting upset though. This is getting overwhelming and I havent even researched flowers, etc.

Don't worry- I looked at a good 30 places before I found one I loved- and now we have been doing the contract for 3 weeks- it'll work out..

WE RAN to the RH to check out details.. they held the date for us ..and then a week later booked.

There might be a chance you might have to switch ur date. That's what happened to me. I wanted to get married in May and everywhere I went it was taken. But don't worry I'm sure you'll find the one soon.

Ohhh really, thats awesome, good idea. I wanted that date too, my parents got married on the 7th so that would be perfect and its 678, lol but nothing available. So I choose #1, hahah #1

We looked at 47 places. Seriously, we kept a running list (we were looking on LI, Westchest/Hudson Valley, CT and NJ), but it was an rough process at times...just when we throught we couldn't take any more (and were about to book a place that I didn't 'love* we decided to check out three more places. The second-to-last place we saw was THE ONE and we just fell in love.
Keep your chin up!! You'll find the perfect place in the end.

Dont worry, I haven't booked mine either! I haven't even looked anywhere! But I live far away, so I don't have much of a choice. I've decided that since Im looking so late, Im going to be really flexible with my dates and mostly looking at places that aren't very popular on these boards and not many people book them, so Im hoping they will still have some availability when I actually get to looking at them. But dont worry, you will find something you love that is available, and if worse comes to worse you can change your date unless it has a really special meaning for you.

Don't even worry about flowers now or anything else for that matter..just focus completely on getting an RH and you'll be booked before you know it...

You're on the right track! I planned on looking at like 20 halls and the weekend I started looking I looked at 7, and when I saw my hall, I just new immediately that it was the one and I booked it a day later...I never thought i'd be the type to do that, but it just happened...you never know, the same thing could happen with you....I hope everything works out!

We were engaged for two days and ran to the hall and booked.....we knew the dates for next year were closing up...that's the biggest thing to get done. Good luck this weekend..hope it all works out.
