We were engaged for two days and ran to the hall and booked.....we knew the dates for next year were closing up...that's the biggest thing to get done. Good luck this weekend..hope it all works out.
we looked at halls before we got engaged from may to june 06 then my sister got engaged dec 9 and i wanted to get married before her so we booked the reception hall the next day.

Now you're getting me more scared.
I booked the first hall we had a month after we got engaged. I cancelled that and booked our new hall in March.

I actually booked 2 weeks after I got engaged.. I know it sounds silly but I wanted that to be the first thing we figured out... yes most of the summer dates are booked but I'm sure there's a place that has something available.
I did book my hall, but I will agree that it is a very time consuming thing. My mom and I must have visited at least 20 halls on top of all the time I spent looking online. Just keep going at it and you will find something with your date available that you love!!!
we booked about 2 weeks after we got engaged but we didnt pick a date 1st. We didnt want to have a situation where we loved a place or had to go someplace we didnt want because of the date availibility. So we found the place and then chose the date by what they had left....as it was they only had 5 sat afternoons left in from April-Oct of 08
I booked CLM in March and they only had 1 saturday left when i booked!
we booked Woodbury country club about 2 weeks after our engagement.. and they were booked the 2nd week in november of 2008 and we went jan of 2007
We got engaged April 2006. I didn't look at halls until after Christmas. I booked the first one I looked at simply because I fell in love with it. We were hoping for 9/22 but they were booked so we made it 9/21. So don't worry. You'll be able to book a hall. It may not be the EXACT date you want, but you'll get married at a beautiful place you love.
you should really try to make a decision soon. the longer you wait, the harder it may be in my opinon. like mentioned above, 09 is booking up already too! good luck!

Ohhh really, thats awesome, good idea. I wanted that date too, my parents got married on the 7th so that would be perfect and its 678, lol but nothing available. So I choose #1, hahah #1
Hate to burst your bubble - but if your date is really 8/31/08 and you're looking at land's end...i think that date is booked by bbyjenny!! :( Sorry
