Can you girls give me your opinions on the following:
Venetian Yacht Club Chateau La Mer Villa Lombardi's Atlantica Land's End Crescent Beach Club Huntington Harbor Club Bridgeview Yacht Club Lombardi's on the Sound Sans Souci of Sea Cliff Sands in Long Beach Swan CLub Russo's on the Bay Thatched Cottage Water's Edge Waterview Club
How you been there to long? What were your impressions? Have you been there for a wedding? How was it? Do you think some places aren't worth the prices??
Also, would you ever have a winter wedding in one of these places?? THANKS SOOOOO MUCH!!!!!

Re: RH on the water
I had my wedding last year at the Harbor Club in Huntington....It was great and my family and friends still talk about it.
The staff there is wonderful and they really worked with our small guest list and gave us a low minimum. They also worked with other requests that I had. The price for a Sat night in July was also VERY reasonable. We added a station to the coctail hour and that was inexpensive (IMO) too.
The food is good and the view is pretty.

Re: RH on the water
I went to look at the Venetian. The prices were great and it was beautiful, just not my style.
My best friend got married at Villa Lombardi's in 2005, and everything was wonderful. It's not on the water though
Russo's of course is always a good option, I just didn't look there because so many people in my family have gotten married there. But they put on a wonderful event.

Re: RH on the water
Lombardi's on the Sound is the only one on that list that I went to...it has a beautiful view and the food is out of control. There was sooooo much food at the cocktail hour (and all delicious!!) that we couldnt even eat our dinner....they were packing up meals for everyone bc everyone was so full. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the ballroom itself, but everything else about the place was great.
another place to consider that is not on your list is the Bayview House (Captain Bills). Its right on the water and really beautiful. Food was all really good also.

Re: RH on the water
Im partial to russo's ive heard nothing but great things about them (yet to go to a wedding there though lol), but my food tasting was outta control!!!!!!!! amazinggggggggg
plus its not the type of layout where you have to be outside to enjoy the view so i think its really good for weddings in colder months (the back wall of the ch is all glass so the view is great!)
i went to harbour club a few years ago for my cousins sweet 16, i cant remeber food/service much but the rh was nice, and they had some nice grounds outside as well

Re: RH on the water
My step-sister got married at Waters Edge in '96....now although that was 13 yrs ago ( ) I still remember the wedding vividly. She was married there and they did an amazing job, the reception was OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD and the view was beyond control @ night. I haven't been there since so not sure if anything has changed. Food was really good too!!!!
Good Luck

Re: RH on the water
We booked CLM and the price was great. Our other fav was Bridgeview.
I always dreamt of having my wedding at land's end, it is gorgeous and more beachy which we wanted cause we are doing a beach them and their food is great BUT their prices are much too high and we didn't think it worth it... especially for non-summer months. We loved lomardi's on the sound too, but thought they were a little too pricey as well. We only considered places on the water too!

Yeah, price is a concern. I know most of these on the water are VERY expensive. CLM has awesome prices, which is why that was big on my list. I think the Venetian might have a good price too. Did you go there??? Did you go look at any of the others I mentioned? Thanks!!

Re: RH on the water
Wow--thats a lot of venues and a lot to consider. We are having a little reception when we return from Antigua and we are having it at Lombardis on the sound. We are having it in one of the upstairs rooms.....the food is amazing and the atmosphere is phenominal. Do you have italian family members? My family is...and they are very into food. Mama Lombardis is also amazing with a boat load of food....One place to cross off the list is the Thatched Cottage. Its on the bay and has a certain aroma that is not desirable. Cute place but not to pleasant when the tide is oh so smelly!! My advice is go everywhere and see what they will offer. AND BRING THE FH!!! ITs amazing how picky they really are!! GL!!

Re: RH on the water
Of course I'm partial but Bridgeview is awesome!!!! The rooms are beautiful and they give you a TON of food! Eric and Kathy (the bms) are great and very responsive and helpful. I'm not sure about the winter price but the summer price isn't terrible! If you want any more info FM me!
