RH Review: Pleasantdale Chateau

Hey girls.. I don't think any of us are booked here, but I know we all love hearing about RHs

I went to my cousin's wedding on Friday at Pleasantdale Chateau in West Orange, NJ and it was absolutely beautiful. My FH is from NJ, and we must have looked at about 6 RHs there before looking into LI. Pleasantdale Chateau is owned by the same folks that own two of the places FH and I visited (The Manor and Highlawn Pavillion). The only reason FH and I didn't look at Pleasantdale is because it was out of our price range, but all three of the RHs they own are lovely in their own ways.

The grounds are just gorgeous. It has an old fashioned feel, but the reception room is modern and just amazing. It's a big room (they had 160 guests), and the layout worked very well. The tables fit ten comfortably. The ceiling was dome-shaped with a skylight. I haven't been to JT but based on the pictures it reminded me a bit of the dome room.

And, of course, the food.. there was definitely enough and the quality was great. My only complaint is that the layout of the CH made it a little difficult to access the food (since it hosts one wedding at a time, you have access to several rooms for the CH and it can be a bit of a walk to get from one place to another). The food was spread between two rooms, and for the first 20 or so minutes I didn't realize there was a second room. I would have been a bit disappointed if I didn't figure that out, because the four-cheese mushroom tortellini was unbelievable.

They had three entree choices: chateaubriand, tillapia, and a vegetarian dish. FH and I chose the steak, and while I'm not the biggest steak eater, I enjoyed it. FH was impressed that they actually cooked his as specified (rare).

There was a mixture of high and low centerpieces, and it looked very nice. I'm not too knowledgeable on flowers, but they were a nice assortment of different shades of pink. I also really liked their table numbers, which were held by vintage-style metal frames.

Lastly.. the favors were Crumbs cupcakes! So yummy.

We had a great time!
