RH Seating- Tables 1 and 2

I know they are typically family members but is Table 1 always the bride's immediate family and Table 2 always the groom's immediate family? Does it matter if it's the other way around?

i don't think it matters at all. Do it whatever way you want. It's your event.

i dont think it matters. whatever side you want the grooms family on will decide what table the grooms family is on and vice versa

i dont think it matters either... as long as they are close and you let your RH know which table they're on, then you're fine.

It doesn't matter at all.

Since my parents are divorced, we made table 1 my mom's table and table 2 my dad's table.

DH's family was at table 3.

The odd side of the room ended up being my dad's and DH's side and the even side was my mom's and our friends' side.

Just get a schematic chart from your RH before you start laying out tables since every hall does it a little differently and you have to go by their chart so they know how to set up (# of seats-wise).

it also depends on your halls seating chart.

for our wedding table 1 will be the bridesmaids & table 2 the groomsmen because we want them seated closest to our dais table.

Personally, I don't think it matters. However, at my engagement party we had place cards and my mom made it a point to let me know that table 1 was the bride's family lol soooo I don't know I am guessing you can do anything you want but there are some traditional 'rules' and I think table 1 is usually the bride's family and table 3 is the groom's family.
