FH and I went to a RH and they told us to keep costs down we can do a 'buffet style' early dinner. FH seems happy with that but I think its a bit rude to ask our guests to go into another room and get their food and come back to the main room. What are your thoughts on this? Would you feel it was tacky to do that? We're having a noon wedding on a sunday.

Re: RH service question
of all the ways to cut wedding costs- i dont think that this is a bad one at all- a lot of places outside ny it is the custom for buffet wedding. i say go for it if it fits into your budget better. people who are going to complain, will always find something to complain about!

Re: RH service question
Are you having assigned seating? As long as people don't have to search for somewhere to sit in another room, I don't see the problem.

Re: RH service question
i've been to several buffet weddings and had a blast. i've never been asked to go to another room to get the food though...

Re: RH service question
Its going to be mini stations where guests can mingle around. we will be having assign seating. We're having about 120 people at the wedding and I thought we should just eat the cost and have table service. haha all these things to think about i feel like eloping!
The buffet was cheaper because you dont have that many waiters to serve the guests. I'm afraid we're going to run out of food since the place is not a catering hall, off site wedding in a rented mansion and they bring everything the morning of.

i think the mini stations idea is so cute! People usually say their favorate part of a wedding is the cocktail hour- why not make the whole wedding this way! I think it would be a huge hit!!

I think this is a cute idea! As long as there is seating for everyone, it should be fine.

Re: RH service question
My aunt had a buffet style wedding. I think its more enjoyable to have a sitdown dinner. It isn't bad though to do that. It's really what you think would be best for you and your guests.

My RH said it was the same price as a sit down which i thought was totally weird. I would think it would definitely be cheaper because less servers.
