Rhinestones Oxidizing (turning black)

Okay Girls -

I bought my dress off the rack probably in March/April... It's in the contract that it will be cleaned, pressed, etc when it gets altered (it's WAY too big).

My issue is that the thingies holding the rhinestones on used to be a pretty silver and they have now oxidized and turned black.

I'm going to call the dress place today but wanted to know if i have any sort of leg to stand on with them...

Thoughts??

Oh no! Does that happen often? Where were you storing it? It doesn't sound like something that should happen to me ... but since it was bought off the rack, I do not know if you have any recourse ...

I don't think I was much of a help here ...

Did you research this online? Is it common?

Yes - I researched it a little last night when I couldn't sleep because of it...

Apparently it's just what happens...oxygen causes it to happen...so there is really not much I could've done. I have the dress in the bag that they gave me, sealed and in a closet with no light/air coming into it...

I refuse to accept this - so i'm hopeful that they'll do SOMETHING...

Did the research say if it's easily cleanable? If it is a common occurance maybe dry cleaners, etc are equipped to handle it??

So sorry to hear this. Please let us know what happens when you call the store and good luck!!!!

I got it in PA - at a place called Bridaltown.. I have RAVED about them on here before...i'm just hoping that they live up to the rave and fix this...

My experience there was polar opposite of everywhere else...i'm keeping my fingers crossed they will maintain that level of service...
