ribbon binding for wedding programs

I have seen numerou pictures of people's programs and they are tied together with a beautiful ribbon or tassle....my question is...how do you tie the bow? is there a special way?does anyone have pics?

I don't know if you can see it well, it was a very sheer ribbon but you can kind of see the knot at the bottom of the program.

I just held the two pieces together and made a knot. (not really a good explanation but I don't really know how else to explain it).

How many pages did you have? I will have 4 sheets folded, so I am thinking of 1/8' hole punches and threaded ribbon - a lot of work, but I am worried the ribbon won't hold all the pages together if I don't

Or programs were two pages folded in half, so it made the program 4 pages. I didn't punch holes, just put the ribbon through the middle and tied it at the bottom. As far as I know they held together just fine.

I used a pretty sheer wine colored ribbon and tied them exactly like applesfla. I also used some stretchy gold ribbon and that came tied in a simple knot. (My colors were ivory, wine and gold.) As far as I know they held fine too. I had two pages folded in half.

I used standard satin ribbon and tied it in a tight knot at the bottom.

How thick was the ribbon? I bought 1/8'. Is that fine?

we used a kind of rope looking material, and we did it just like the previous ladies did, tied it at the bottom, It looked like a tassle.
