I just got a quote to have my ring insured and they wanted $547 a year!!!! They said they can't add it to my homeowners insurance because of the price of the ring. Does this sound high????

I insured my ring thru StateFarm where I also have my car insurance and my parents have their homeowners insurance. I am paying $112/year for a ring that was appraised at over $10k! The price they gave you seems insane!

I did state farm too because that's where my home owners insurance is. UGGGG

that sounds odd! what if you buy a Renoir? I could understand having to add separate coverage - I can't remember what its called - there is a name for what I'll call 'Valuables' coverage. for like antique jewelry' art etc...its like an additional policy that sits under your home owners though. hmmm - what insurance co do you use? I'd call around and get some quotes

It is a ryder policy to my home owners insurance. I use State Farm.

i was just wondering about that. i just got my ering for my bday and i didnt think that a regular insurance company like statefarm would insure rings. i have my car insurance with them. thanks for the info.

That seems extremely high!! I got a quote from my homeowners and it was only like less than $100/year extra and I also got a quote from Chubb and it was like $125 for the year..i would definetly check around!!

Mine was close with that which I thought was insane as well! I paid it though out of laziness of researching a new company. My fiance added it to his homeowners Insurance.

If you don't add it to your homeowners, you should check out Jewelers Mutual. I found them to be very affordable to insure my e-ring, wedding band and my DH's ring.
